Meg and I showed up for Amy‘s graduation at The Rose Garden early so that we could get in there and save seats for everyone else.  Of course, we were already there anyway because we’d had to drop Amy there by 8 am.   That was a factor.

We only had to wait for a few minutes before the doors were opened and we went inside. We staked our territory and sat down to do two years worth of catching up.  While she was on the phone, I started looking up at all the Blazers banners, championship and otherwise and realized I hadn’t even located the most important one of all.  I looked up and all the way around the arena until I was completely turned around and there it was, right above meMaurice Lucas‘ retired number 20.

Of course, since Amy and Mike would both be looking for me in that big old arena, this gave me the opportunity to text them both.  "SECTION 112, ROW O.  RIGHT BELOW MAURICE’S NUMBER.  COINCIDENCE?"  Those two might as well share a brain.  Mike’s reply: "NO, DESTINY."  Amy’s: "KISMET.
