Victory

Athletics_young_vince_roseI hate to say this, but I’ve come to realize that the word means very little to me.  When it arrived in the email Courtney sent to fire the starter pistol on the final week of this summer’s (first? only?) Blog-Off, every tiny little cog and wheel in my brain came to a grinding halt, each of the few creative juices that I normally have flowing solidified.

What does victory mean to me?  Well, it seems kind of shallow to say, but the only meaning it has for me is sports related.  When I think victory (or, rather, Vicktory), I think of football and frankly, that isn’t really something that I want to be pondering right now.  As much as I can’t wait for the season to start, it’s a touchy subject at the moment.

So, that’s it for me, boys and girls.  I’m bowing out.  There’s just nothing I can do with victory without expending an abundance of time that I just don’t have right now.  Sorry.  Hopefully the others won’t let you down.

I found your awesome blog via Blogexplosion!
    Really great stuff here…
    I bookmarked this.

    Love Football!

I would really appreciate your opinion or comment via posting a comment on my blog if you get a spare moment 🙂

I understand what you mean. If I didn’t have somethng immediately pop into my head when I first got the word I would have had an immensely difficult time writing something. But don’t put yourself down. I think your post was honest and heart-felt, which is what this contest is all about.

  3. Shari Says:

I agree with the Princess. You’re being honest and that’s great. I lucked out in that I had been thinking about victory (in the form of success) for a few days already just because of what is going on in my life, and I knew right away what I could write about.

But it sure wasn’t like that for “Survivor”! Heeee.

Don’t feel bad – I totally had to bow out of this one. With my line being down, I missed getting Courtney’s email. And with trying to wrap things up at work before my vacation and spending the last two days at Adam’s house to avoid the awful commute and oil slick roads, I haven’t bothered checking emails or blogging or even going on Facebook. Can you believe it?

VP & Shari: Thanks a lot you guys, you’re too sweet!

Kelly: Technically, I met all the requirements so I actually did post. At least I put in some effort. Sheesh.

  6. Evey Says:

Victory, schmictory. You posted, that all that matters 😉

I can’t blame you and your writer’s block. I had to sit and think and ponder in front of the computer for AGES before I came up with anything at all. “Victory” just isn’t used that much anymore, and it’s not common to think about it, so it took a lot of brain wreaking late into the night.

But…good honesty! Can’t fault you for that, so kudos.

What an appropriate picutre! I’ve been carrying a little something across the country for you.

    Huggs.
It’s a post with the most.
    Truth.
Know your truth and take Victory in it!
